23 reviews of Hickam Main Exchange If you live on Hickam and have time to drive to the NEX, do it. The BXtra has very few redeeming qualities. The selection is minimal, and the prices are questionable on most items. It does have a great selection of Hawaiian souvenir items, but most (if not all) of these items can be purchased for much less at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet.

Hickam ‘s BX is large and quite nice, and is a great compliment to the NEX at PH. The NEX is NOT behind the gate making it very convenient for people off-base to travel to. If you are NOT a DOD ID card holder or have exc change privileges, you are not authorized to shop and will be denied the ability to purchase. This holds true for the commissary .
